nuID is a complete digital identity ecosystem that allows every citizen to have a digitised version of their physical ID card on their smart phone, which is backed by an online certificate of authenticity that is digitally signed with an advanced crypto key.

In addition nuID also provides you with a fast, secure and convenient way to check Identity related information of someone else when you are in doubt and want to make suure they are who they claim to be. 

WILL nuID GIVE ME A HANIS REPORT?
nuID offers various verification tools via your mobile phone. When you use "CertifyID", you will get a full report from HANIS, only once their fingerprints were matched. The report will also be emailed to you and will contain all the relevant information about the person, including their registered photo. This report is a certified proof of their identity.

WILL nuID BE ABLE TO DO CRIMINAL CHECKS? 
Currently the nuID App cannot be used to do criminal checks as this require special integration to the SAPS system. We are however continuously adding new verification features to the nuID App and once this becomes available, we will notify you.

WILL WE SHARE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?
nuID is the first Digital Identity Platform that completely protects your personal information. Every user has full control over their personal information only when you specifically authorise it, will your information be released. You are always in control.

WHAT ARE THE COSTS PER TRANSACTION?
‍You are only billed once a transactions was successfully processed by the nuID platform. The following costs would apply:

Check ID - R3.99
Verify ID - R6.99
Certify ID - R32.99
Verify Account - R16.99

Please note that all transsactions are billed through your own mobile account.
